Preble County Habitat For Humanity ReStore
ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store that is operated by Preble County Habitat for Humanity. Our store is supported by volunteers and is supplied by donations we receive from generous donors. You can find anything from paint, dishes, light fixtures, furniture, antiques to decor and much more.
The contents of our ReStore change frequently, so be sure to visit our store routinely!
What we carry & what you can donate
The ReStore accepts donations of high-quality household items and building materials.
- appliances – refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, window air conditioning units, washers, dryers
- bicycles
- cabinets – kitchen or bathroom
- countertops – minimal damage or chips, no cutouts, straight countertops only, minimum 4 feet long
- doors
- flatscreen televisions & other electronics
- flooring – wood, vinyl, tile, area rugs (must be new)
- furniture – chairs, couches, bed frames, tables
- hardware – nails, screws, nuts, bolts, locks, knobs, hinges
- home decor – antiques, fireplace inserts, artwork, mirrors
- lighting fixtures, lamps with shades, and ceiling fans
- lumber & trim
- outdoor – pavers, yard equipment, lawn mowers
- paint – unopened cans of latex paint or stain
- plumbing parts – no faucets or soldered fittings
- plywood – half or full sheets only
- tools – working power tools, hand, or garden tools
- windows – must be complete units with clear, insulated glass
(metal and wooden frames cannot be accepted)

You may request to have our volunteers pick up donations from your home.

Restore Donation Faq's
When can I bring donations?
You can bring your donations to the ReStore anytime during our open hours.
What items CANNOT be donated to the ReStore?
Preble County Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore will make the final decision on which items can be accepted. Items are typically rejected due to quality concerns. Below is a list of items that we are not able to accept into our ReStore for a number of reasons:
- Bedding/Linens
- Blinds
- Books
- Car repair or maintenance items
- Chemicals
- China cabinets
- Clothing, shoes, bags
- Countertops with cutouts or sinks
- Curtains or draps
- Cut carpet
- Dehumidifiers
- Entertainment centers
- Faucets, soldered fittings
- Flooring less than 100 sqft or unboxed tile
- Fluorescent bulbs, tubes, fixtures
- Hot tubs
- Large amounts of outdoor pavers (small amounts may be accepted)
- Large TV stands
- Living plants
- Lumber or trim less than 8 feet long (no nails)
- Mattresses or box springs
- Medical equipment
- Movies (DVDs or CDs)
- Paint that is opened, used, lead-based, or oil-based cannot be accepted
- Pet supplies
- Pianos
- Pull-out beds or sleeping sofas
- Shingles
- Shower doors
- Unboxed or unlabeled hardware (screws/nails)
- Unframed glass or mirrors
- Used carpet/padding
- Used toilets
- Used vinyl flooring with holes or glue damage
- Weapons
- Windows with metal or painted or wooden frames
